My name is Sofia. I am an Italian from Venice, a charming city that captivates the hearts of millions of people around the world. When I was eleven years old, I chose to study French as a second foreign language. It was like love at first sight: I have never stoped admiring the beauty of this language since then. In 2013, I attended the International Emerging Leaders Conference in the United States. It turned out to be an unforgettable experience, during which I could see the importance of languages, not only as a communication tool that allows people to work together, but also as a federation tool that helps humans bringing together ideas to develop common projects. This is how I realized my vocation was the study of foreign languages. Once back in Italy, I therefore chose to study at the Faculty of Languages, Translation and Interpretation of the University of Trieste, where I learned German. My studies give me the chance not only to discover the relationships and differences between the various foreign languages I study, but also to master my own native language in greater depth, and, thus, to know myself a little bit better. I now fuel the desire to take a step forward towards the others, and to keep on discovering new places. In these new places I discover and with these new people I meet, I always leave a piece of my heart, to be found again later in life, as life is nothing else than an eternal journey.
